Cultivating Health & Empowering Communities.
radicating hunger for Ugandan school children through a sustainable cycle of farming, community, and culinary celebration.
Sowing Seeds of Empowerment in Uganda
One Young Generation was born from a simple yet profound realization: a child cannot build a future on an empty stomach. In the vibrant rural communities of Mpigi District, we saw brilliant young minds whose potential was being limited by the daily struggle for food. We saw resilient single mothers working tirelessly but trapped in a cycle that made it difficult to provide for their families and invest in their children’s education.
And so, One Young Generation was founded not just to feed, but to cultivate. We set out to build a holistic ecosystem where nourishing a child, empowering a mother, and strengthening a community are all part of the same virtuous cycle.

What's in a Smile? It's More Than Just Happiness.
When you see that smile, you're seeing the direct result of empowerment and nourishment working in harmony. That smile represents:
Each meal we serve is a promise kept.
A promise to our children that they matter, a promise to our mothers that their work has profound meaning, and a promise to our partners that their support is creating real, visible change.
Be the Reason for a Smile
This is the impact you can be a part of. Your support—whether through a generous donation, volunteering your time, or joining one of our immersive community tours—translates directly into the health, happiness, and hope reflected in every child’s smile. Each contribution helps us provide essential care, education, and a nurturing environment, ensuring that these children not only survive but truly thrive. Together, we can create a ripple effect of change that lasts a lifetime.

Testimonials
A heartfelt thanks from out community that ha been impacted by the programs
“Before One Young Generation, every day was a worry. Now, there is pride. I am not just given help; I have been given a skill. To be able to look my son in the eye and say, ‘I am paying for your school meals’—that is a feeling I cannot describe. They ask for 50%, and I am proud to provide it. This program didn't give me a handout; it gave me the dignity of providing for my own family.”
“I used to watch my son, David, come home from school too tired to even play. Some days, he was too hungry to focus in class. Now? He runs home with a full belly and a bright smile, eager to tell me what he learned. His teacher says he is one of the most active students. The nutritious meals at school have changed everything for him. Seeing him healthy and happy is the greatest gift.”
“This is more than a feeding program; it is my business. The training taught me how to plan my harvest, and being part of the farmer group helps us get a fair price at the market. For the first time, I have a consistent income I can rely on. It means I can buy medicine if it's needed, repair my home, and always, always contribute to my daughter's education without fear.”
“As a single mother, it is easy to feel alone. But in our farmer group, we are a family. We share advice, we help each other in the fields, and we celebrate our successes together. When my crop was struggling, another mother in the group showed me a new technique she learned. This program didn't just give me an income; it gave me sisters. We are stronger together.”
“For so long, I could only think about today's food. One Young Generation has given me the ability to dream about tomorrow. Because my daughter is fed and learning, and my income is stable, I can start to save. I have hope that she can go on to secondary school, something I never thought was possible for her. This has not just fed my child; it has nourished our entire family's future.”
Our Pride is the Smile on Every Child's Face
After all the seeds are planted, after the harvest is gathered, and after the community works together, this is our true measure of success. It’s not found in spreadsheets or reports, but in the simple, radiant smile of a child who can learn, play, and dream without the ache of an empty stomach.
