One Young Generation was born from a simple yet profound realization: a child cannot build a future on an empty stomach. In the vibrant rural communities of Mpigi District, we saw brilliant young minds whose potential was being limited by the daily struggle for food. We saw resilient single mothers working tirelessly but trapped in a cycle that made it difficult to provide for their families and invest in their children’s education.

We knew a simple handout wasn’t the answer. The solution had to be rooted in the community itself—in its soil, its strength, and its people. It had to be sustainable, dignified, and empowering.

And so, One Young Generation was founded not just to feed, but to cultivate. We set out to build a holistic ecosystem where nourishing a child, empowering a mother, and strengthening a community are all part of the same virtuous cycle.
